I've got a lovely pair of coconuts

We passed St. Lucie inlet this morning, and about a kilometer later we came upon a long dock in a small lagoon. The sign said "St. Lucie Inlet State Park" so we decided to stop in. What a fabulous place. While we only stayed an hour this would have been worth an entire day trip. About 1/2 of the park is a mangrove swamp, and has boardwalks over the swamp. It gives an awesome view of the swamp that you'd never see otherwise. After about 1/2 a kilometer walk you reach solid ground and shortly after, a beautiful beach on the Atlantic.
The kids all had a great time walking in the surf and the boys built a small sand castle.

Unfortunately there is no overnight's allowed so we had to head back to the boat and once again head south.
We didn't make it more than a mile or so before we arrived at Peck Lake and decided to stop early for the day. Peck Lake is a beautiful small lake with a tiny anchoring area that can fit about 10 boats. It has quite a few manatees so you have to be careful when going to the beach. From the lakeside beach there is a 200 metre walk over to the Atlantic beach. Here the kids played in the surf for quite some time.
We had so much fun here that we decided to spend the entire next day and night as well.
This was our first encounter with "no-see-ums". These tiny insects are similar to mosquitoes, but smaller. We have screens for all our windows so that helped, but it prevented any stargazing which would have been nice given the wonderful weather.
